Members Consultation

Next year 2008, we will be planning 2 consultation meetings with members to gather views and carry out a review and evaluation of our strategy and business plan. The first consultation meeting will be held in May and will focus on the Supported Services. Further information regarding the event will be sent to members near the date.

New Wine Church

Once again the New Wine Church have extended their kind gesture to our members and service users. Special Christmas Hampers were donated including a BIG Turkey, which were distributed to members and service users. OBAC would like to say a BIG THANK YOU and we appreciate all the support the Pastors and Officers have given us.

OBAC Members Association Day - 20 December 2007

OBAC Annual General Meeting 16 November 2007

OBAC held its Annual General Meeting on the 16 November 2007. The members approved the revised constitution, minutes of the previous agm meeting and the annual financial statements.

Also at the meeting OBAC new Executive Committee were voted in.

Torch Trust

On the 21 August at 11.00am Torch Trust will be visiting OBAC to discuss about the services they have to offer members. The organisation has a directory of publication in accessible formats for visually impaired people, including the Bible on CD-Rom.

The organisation will also have an event on the 8 September and there will free lunch and travel for those who want to attend.

Annual Subscriptions

You must have received letters by now reminding you of the annual subscriptions. OBAC financial year starts from 1st April to 30 March every year.

We are appealing to members to listen to the tapes and ask a relative or friend to write a cheque or please call the office on 020 7735 3400

OBAC Annual General Meeting

Members should not forget our Annual General Meeting. We have not agreed a date for this year's agm, but it will be sometime in October or mid November. Please check this space for further information.

Constitutional Review

This year, the management committee have made a decision to review the organisation Constitution. All members will consulted with regards to changes. You will receive draft amendments within the next couple of months. We will also post the draft amendments for consultation on the website.

Day Trip to France

Anyone interested in going to France by coach on the 1st of September? Please contact the office if you are interested. Please take note that this trip is not being organised by OBAC.

Day trip to Lille, France on the 25 August 2006 by Eurostar. -

We have organised another day trip to France for members; this is as a result from feedback from members who attended last year's trip.

Tickets are between £50 - £65 and first come first serve.

Active Citizens Workshop

Are you interested in becoming a Magistrate?

A workshop has been organised with Volunteer Centre Southwark on How to Become a Magistrate which falls within the Active Citizens agenda. It has been identified that there is a low take up of people from black ethnic minorities and disabled people wanting to become Magistrates, if you are interested in attending the event please contact the Bintu Barley the Information, Advice and Administration Coordinator on 020 7735 3400
