OBAC BENEVOLENT FUND
At the AGM, 28th November 2003 it was agreed that the organisation would start the process of implementing a Benevolent Fund for members. The management committee elected a sub-group, whose responsibility included setting the criteria for funding and the operations of the fund with the full agreement of the management committee.
The main purpose of the fund ‘is to provide assistance to members by pump priming funding applications submitted to other funders and alleviating issues around poverty’
Eligibility Criteria
Being a paid member of OBAC
- Must be on low income
- Must demonstrate you are seeking assistance from other sources i.e. charitable trusts, social fund.
- You cannot re-apply within 2 years of an award being made.
- You must produce original receipts of purchase and pro-forma invoices.
The fund will support or assist the following;
- Household Goods (Bed linen, Quilts, kettle, weighing scales)
- Towards an holiday/outing
- Leisure activity
- Small equipment (talking clocks, watches)
- We will fund things that can enhance the quality of life.
