PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Re: Policies and Procedures

Student registration incorporates OBAC Training and Consultancy admissions policy and procedure. It includes checking to ensure that students complete the enrolment form, present copies of relevant certificates, identification, payments of fees and issuance of ID cards.   The student then attends induction and begins course.

Attendance

The view of OBAC Training and Consultancy is that regular attendance is necessary for academic success.  Every student is expected to be present and on time for classes.  They are expected and required to attend classes regularly and participate actively in the instructional program throughout the academic year.   Overseas students are required to attend for, at least, 15 hours per week. Irregular attendance may lead to suspension and repeated occurrence may lead to exclusion. Such cases will be brought to the attention of Immigration authorities and awarding bodies

Authorised Absence

There will be occasions when students are legitimately absent from classes due to unavoidable reasons.   The categories of "valid" excused absences are Illness - a doctor's note may be required for extended illness, medical appointments or treatment, any other unforeseen emergency (must be authorised by OBAC Training and Consultancy

Non-arrivals

OBAC Training and Consultancy monitor students' movement from their country of departure to the UK. Non-arrivals are monitored and students failing to arrive due to unavoidable circumstances will be given alternative resumption dates; usually the beginning of the next term course.

Non-attendance

Students failing to attend course and classes will be excluded.   Such cases will be brought to the attention of Immigration authorities and awarding bodies.

Refund of Fees

A complete refund of the tuition fee (less administrative fee of Two Hundred and Fifty Pounds (£250.00) will be granted under certain conditions (e.g. (a) the student is denied entry visa to the UK.  Proof in the form of the rejection letter from UK Immigration authorities is required. (b) The student states, in writing to the Director of the Program his/her intent not to participate in the programme.

The deadline for receiving this is at least 4 weeks before the commencement of the programme.   Student must submit proof to support the application, giving reasons; such as a death or serious illness of the student, or a member of the student's immediate family that necessitates the student returning home.

No refund of the tuition fee will be given if the student withdraws after the deadline listed in (b) has passed or the student is removed from the program because of gross misconduct.
