OBAC strongly believes in working in partnership with organisations/institutions that share similar aims and campaigns. Over the years we have developed relationships and worked in partnership with Action for Blind People, RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind), GHARWEG and Action for Employment (A4e).
Through our partnership work we have been able to reach out and have a significant impact on over 1000 people in the community.
RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind)
With the RNIB we worked in partnership with SENSE, Liverpool Association for the Blind, and Leeds and Hull universities to deliver a Big Lottery Funded project. The aim of the project was to carry out research investigating the barriers to employment for black and ethnic minority sensory-impaired people.
The partnership organised consultation events in London, Birmingham, and Bradford. One of the key findings from the research was the need for employers to understand disability and awareness in the work place.
OBAC also partnered with the RNIB to deliver a health project carrying outreach work and raising awareness of glaucoma amongst African and Caribbean people living in South London.
OBAC was involved in a partnership project funded by the Skills Funding Agency ESF. The training project trained over 350 beneficiary’s skills development and skills for life to enable the beneficiaries achieve meaningful employment.
Action for Employment (A4e) Flexible New Deal
OBAC had a sub-contractor deal to deliver the Flexible New Deal programme funded by the Department for Work & Pensions.
UKonline And Tinder Foundation
